Forecast Snow Stability: Localised areas of moderately bonded windslab will persist in wind sheltered locations on mostly East through South to South-West aspects above 900 metres. Elsewhere the snow will be generally well bonded with most extensive cover present above 800 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: A dry and mostly sunny day. Light South-South-Westerly winds gradually increasing in speed becoming moderate to fresh over the summits during the afternoon. 600 metre freezing level overnight, gradually rising but with the air temperature remaining below freezing in the shade at 930 metres throughout the period. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with strong Northerly winds at summit level. Cloud base around 1000 metres during the morning, lifting and breaking to sunshine after midday. Freezing level around 800 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Localised areas of moderately bonded windslab are present in wind sheltered locations on mainly South-East to South-West aspects above 900 metres. Some cross-loading of East facing gully lines was also encountered. Whilst not extensive these accumulations are unstable. Elsewhere, mostly well bonded snow exists with good cover present above 800 metres. Below 700 metres cover is very limited. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
