As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures and solar radiation the snowpack consolidated. Weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on northwest, north and northeast facing slopes. Here the likelihood of avalanches being released is greater. Avalanches can be released, in particular by large loads. The high temperatures as the day progresses will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack. The danger of moist avalanches will increase but remain within the current danger level. Apart from the danger of being buried, restraint should be exercised in view of the danger of avalanches sweeping people along and giving rise to falls.

In high Alpine regions less snow than usual is lying. The surface of the snowpack has frozen to form a strong crust and will soften during the day. In many places there is a danger of falling on the hard crust. Backcountry tours should be concluded timely.

In some localities 15 to 30 cm of snow will fall on Friday above approximately 2000 m. In the course of the day possibly danger level 2 (moderate) will be reached above approximately 2000 m.
