Individual avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found in particular in extremely steep terrain above approximately 2600 m. In very isolated cases avalanches can be released in deep layers. These avalanche prone locations are very rare but are barely recognisable. Apart from the danger of being buried, restraint should be exercised in particular in view of the danger of avalanches sweeping people along and giving rise to falls. As the day progresses as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation there will be only a slight increase in the danger of wet and gliding avalanches. Small and medium-sized natural avalanches are possible. This applies in particular on steep east and west facing slopes below approximately 2800 m, as well as on north facing slopes below approximately 2400 m. Backcountry tours should be concluded timely.

During the night, which once again will be mostly clear, the snow surface will freeze to form a crust; it will be strong over a wide area in the morning. The crust will thaw as the day progresses, and the danger of wet snow avalanches will increase a little. The snowpack is thoroughly moist up to elevated altitudes in the high Alpine regions on south facing slopes, below approximately 3000 m on west and east facing slopes, and below approximately 2400 m on north facing slopes. On Wednesday night the skies will be only partly clear. Thursday will be only occasionally sunny on the main Alpine ridge in Valais and on the southern flank of the Alps. A little precipitation may fall. The north and east will be quite sunny and dry despite cloudbanks. Friday will be occasionally sunny in the north, and cloudy in the south. Showers are possible on the main Alpine ridge in Valais and on the southern flank of the Alps. Even though the night skies will be only partly clear, the avalanche situation in the morning will be quite favourable on each of the coming days. Under the influence of daytime warming and solar radiation, the danger of wet snow avalanches will increase a little on the northern flank of the Alps during each of the coming days.
