Beware of numerous exposed rocks hidden by the little recent snow.
As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures the snow drift accumulations stabilised. They can be released in isolated cases and generally at high altitude, especially adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas, and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, when entering gullies and bowls for example, in particular on extremely steep slopes.
Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas and at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions a little snow is lying. The sometimes strong wind has transported the new snow. In all aspects snow depths vary greatly above approximately 2200 m, depending on the infuence of the wind. On steep sunny slopes below approximately 2600 m a little snow is lying. At low and intermediate altitudes only a little snow is now lying. Weak layers exist in the old snowpack in all aspects. As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures and solar radiation a crust formed on the surface, in particular below approximately 2700 m on very steep sunny slopes.
Wind and new snow: The avalanche danger will increase during the day.
