Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will be moist and generally stable in all locations. Isolated surface instabilities may be present, mainly on steep North-West through North-East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. The snowpack will thaw at all levels and any remaining superficial snow cover at lower elevations will become further depleted. Cornices will be weak and prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Staying mild with the freezing level remaining above the summits. It will be mostly dry with a few localised rain showers possible during the afternoon. Southerly winds, initially very strong, decreasing steadily to become light by the end of the period. Observed Weather Influences: A mild and wet day, with rain at all levels. The freezing level rose to above the summits around daybreak, where it remained for the rest of the reporting period. Fresh to strong South-Westerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: Following a period of poorer stability overnight, the snowpack is thawing and gradually consolidating in all locations. Some localised surface instabilities are present, mainly on steep North-West through North-East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. Cornices are fragile. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
