Avalanche Activity

In the afternoon as a consequence of the rain there will be only a slight increase in the danger of moist and wet snow slides.

The surface of the snowpack will only just freeze and will already be soft in the early morning. As the day progresses as the penetration by moisture increases there will be an increase in the avalanche danger within the current danger level. Individual mostly small moist loose snow slides are possible below approximately 2500 m. Even a small snow slide can sweep people along and give rise to falls.

Snowpack Structure

The sleet will give rise in the afternoon to slight moistening of the snowpack. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas as well as in high Alpine regions snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Over a wide area less snow than usual is lying.
