Recent variable winds have created wind slabs in alpine terrain atop a variety of old surfaces.
Continually assess as you travel, and retreat to mellower terrain if signs of instability are observed.
Both wind slabs and persistent weak layers remain a concern in steep alpine terrain.

A layer of facets over a crust is buried 80 to 150 cm. There have been no new reports of avalanches on this layer, and it is likely difficult to trigger with the generally benign weather.
On Monday, west of Haines and just south of our forecast area, two human triggered avalanches were reported in northwest facing alpine terrain. One storm slab and one cornice fall.
A few wet loose avalanches were observed in steep rocky terrain near Kelsall Lake over the weekend.
Light snowfall has been redistributed by variable winds at higher elevations, with a dusting covering a crust on south-facing slopes.
A persistent weak layer of facets and crust is 80 to 150 cm deep in the alpine, and would most likely be triggered by large loads, like a cornice fall, or in thin-to-thick snowpack transitions.
