Forecast Snow Stability: The existing fresh snow will be redistributed overnight due to some strong Northerly winds. No significant new snow accumulations are expected. Localised instabilities will be present in sheltered areas above 1000 metres but the overall snowpack stability will be generally good. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Forecast Weather Influences: There will be a period of strong Northerly winds overnight before easing to the North-West during Thursday. Some light snow showers above 600 metres. Observed Weather Influences: There have been some light snow showers above 800 metres with moderate to strong South-Westerly winds over the summits. ObservedSnowStability: A light covering of fresh snow is present above 900 metres. Locally, this has formed shallow accumulations of windslab in areas sheltered from the South-Westerly winds. Greatest accumulations are at the tops of North, North-East and East aspects above 1000 metres. Elsewhere, snowpack stability os generally good. The avalanche hazard is Low.
