Forecast Snow Stability: The old and increasingly patchy snowpack will continue to thaw and be generally well bonded with good stablility. The greatest accumulations will remain on North to East aspects above 800 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: It will be wet with rain showers at all levels, throughout the forecast period. South-Westerly winds will be fresh during the evening. Overnight, they will steadily gain in strength becoming gale force by mid morning. The freezing level will be above the summits. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day, cloudy at first with some brighter periods developing in the afternoon. The winds were strong South-Westerlies and the freezing level was above the highest summits. ObservedSnowStability: The remaining snow patches are mostly found on North to East aspects above 800 metres. They are generally firm, well bonded and stable, continuing to thaw and diminish in the milder conditions. The avalanche hazard is Low.
