NC for 29.1: The snowpack will thaw, and remain well bonded and stable. Rock and ice fall a hazard, Unstable cornices. Low Hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will thaw at all altitudes, and be well bonded and stable throughout. The most widespread patches will be around coire back walls and plateau areas above 800 metres. Cornice remnants will become unstable and potentially collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Dry overnight followed by light rain at all levels during the day. Gale force Westerly winds will increase to become storm force by day break. The freezing level will rise above the summits overnight, turning cooler during the afternoon, as the freezing level falls to 800 metres by the end of the day. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with fresh Westerly winds. The midday temperature at summit levels was minus 3 degrees Celsius. ObservedSnowStability: Recent isolated windslab accumulations on North-East to South-East aspects above 1000 metres have consolidated. The old snowpack remains firm well bonded and stable at all altitudes. This is most widespread around coire back walls and plateau areas above 800 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
