Kernpunkte

The snowpack will be quite stable.

Lawinenprobleme

  • Wind slab

    • Above 2,000 m

Avalanche Activity

The snowpack will be quite stable.

Wind slabs can at their margins be released by large loads. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found especially in extremely steep terrain at high altitude. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Snowpack Structure

The older wind slabs have bonded quite well with the old snowpack. Sunshine and high temperatures gave rise to increasing consolidation of the snowpack. Snow depths vary greatly at intermediate and high altitudes, depending on the infuence of the wind. In particular at low and intermediate altitudes hardly any snow is lying.

Tendency

In some localities up to 50 cm of snow will fall above approximately 1000 m.
