Kernpunkte

While we have gotten some new snow over the last few days it has come in wet and has bonded nicely to old snow surfaces.  No avalanches have been reported or observed recently and chances of human triggered avalanches are low but not impossible today. Watch for some wet loose activity on Southerly aspects like cinnamon rolls, roller balls, and point releases, try to avoid these later in the day as things warm up.

With warming temps and possibly some strong solar radiation today wet loose activity is likely  but should remain small in size.  These present themselves as point releases fanning out and entraining more snow, they are more likely midday and into the afternoon after things warm up.

Avalanche Discussion

The new snow we have received this week came in warm and wet and plastered itself to the old snow surfaces. Stability tests have been unreactive and no recent avalanches have been observed or reported with new snow not forming a cohesive slab.  Warm temps and some strong solar have been thawing the snowpack giving signs of small wet loose activity which should continue today. As we receive more warming and precip we will have to monitor how a heavier load will affect deeper weak layers.
