New snow and northeast winds Saturday created pockets of dense wind slabs to 18 inches in depth that could be triggered on lee slopes at upper elevations. The chance of encountering these pockets is greater on the west side of the range where more snow fell. Rapidly warming temperatures will increase the chance of natural and human triggered wet surface slides at all elevations. Yesterday a skier triggered a slide on a southeast facing slope in the Four Pines area south of the Jackson Hole Resort. Similar events should be expected today. Sunlit, steep slopes and their run-outs should be avoided after noon.
