Deep snow from last week's storm has settled significantly but unstable areas persist particularly in steeper, wind loaded areas and slopes underlain by rock. Slides released since the storm have mostly run on the interface between the old snow and the newer three to four feet of storm snow. As the snowpack settles larger triggers such as the second or later person on a slope may start a slide.
