Forecast Snow Stability: Moderately to weakly bonded windslab will persist on North-West to North-East aspects above 900 metres. Localised areas of moderately bonded windslab will continue to build on East to South aspects. Gully tops, crag aprons and coire rims will be most affected. Unstable cornices will remain a threat. Forecast Weather Influences: Snowfall will continue through the evening, heaviest around midnight, before clearing to leave a dry day. Strong winds from the North-West will increase to gale force for a few hours overnight. These will gradually ease, veering becoming more from the North. The freezing level will fluctuate around 300 metres. Observed Weather Influences: It was a dry morning with snow falling during the afternoon. Strong winds from the North-West with the freezing level around 600 metres at noon. Below this altitude, the snow pack is slowly starting to consolidate but weaknesses remain in steep wind sheltered locations such as river beds and convexities. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
