The sometimes strong wind will transport the new snow. Over a wide area wind slabs will form. In the course of the day the previously small wind slabs will increase in size once again.
Snowpack Structure
As a consequence of the moderate to strong northeasterly wind, fresh snow drift accumulations will form. The wind slabs represent the main danger.
