The fresh wind slabs represent the main danger.

As a consequence of new snow and a strong wind from northwesterly directions, wind slabs will form in the course of the day. These are small but can in some cases be released easily. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on west to north to east facing aspects above approximately 2000 m. Caution is to be exercised in particular adjacent to ridgelines. Apart from the danger of being buried, restraint should be exercised as well in view of the danger of avalanches sweeping people along and giving rise to falls.

The wind will be strong. Some snow will fall. Fresh and older wind slabs are lying on top of a weakly bonded old snowpack. The old snowpack is faceted and its surface has a crust that is barely capable of bearing a load. The snowpack will be generally subject to considerable local variations. A little snow is lying in all altitude zones.
