Forecast Snow Stability: Localised accumulations of unstable windslab will develop on North through East to South-East aspects above 800 metres. Areas especially affected will be in steep wind sheltered locations such as the tops of gullies and coire rims. On these aspects fragile cornices will develop. Elsewhere the old snowpack will be firm and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Snow showers are expected throughout the forecast period on strong to gale force Westerly winds. The freezing level be around 600 metres. Observed Weather Influences: A mostly dry morning followed by snow and hail showers through the afternoon. Winds were gale force Westerly. The freezing level fell from above the summits to 700 metres by early afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: Due to fluctuating temperatures recent windslab accumulations are beginning to consolidate; however, instabilities persist on steep Northerly to Easterly aspects above 1000 metres. Areas most affected are steep wind sheltered locations such as coire rims and gully exits. Elsewhere the old snowpack is firm and generally stable. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
