In particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas as well as above approximately 2000 m wind slabs formed. They remain in some cases prone to triggering in particular on steep shady slopes. Avalanches can in isolated cases be triggered in the old snowpack and reach medium size. Whumpfing sounds indicate the danger.

The snowpack will be generally soft. Towards its base, the snowpack is faceted and weak. Above the tree line, shady slopes: Over a wide area new snow and wind slabs are lying on a weakly bonded old snowpack. Over a wide area from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.
