Avalanche Activity

Significant warming: As the day progresses the likelihood of moist and wet avalanches being released will increase gradually in particular on very steep sunny slopes.

Small and medium-sized avalanches are possible. On little-used, rather lightly snow-covered north facing slopes only isolated slab avalanches are possible. This applies in particular in case of a large load. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Snowpack Structure

A clear night will be followed in the early morning by quite favourable conditions mostly, but the danger of wet avalanches will increase later. The surface of the snowpack will soften during the day. Faceted weak layers exist in the old snowpack in particular on steep north facing slopes. The old wind slabs are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas.

The avalanche danger will increase during the day.
