The new snow and wind slabs of the last few days must be evaluated with care and prudence.

Isolated small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized loose snow avalanches are possible as a consequence of the new snow. Avalanches can in some places be released, even by a single winter sport participant. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on steep shady slopes and in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. The number and size of avalanche prone locations will increase with altitude. Apart from the danger of being buried, restraint should be exercised in particular in view of the danger of avalanches sweeping people along and giving rise to falls.

Over a wide area 10 to 20 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall until the evening above approximately 1800 m. In some places new snow is lying on soft layers. The fresh and older wind slabs are barely recognisable because of the poor visibility. In very isolated cases weak layers exist in the old snowpack in particular on shady slopes. This applies on very steep slopes above approximately 2200 m. In particular below the tree line only a little snow is lying.

As a consequence of warming during the day and the solar radiation, the likelihood of slab avalanches being released will increase gradually. More frequent loose snow avalanches are possible as the day progresses.
