Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will remain on mainly North-East through East to South aspects above 800 metres. Wind sheltered locations such as gullies where the windslab achieves depth will present the greatest hazard. Fragile cornices exist above these aspects. Some locations on other aspects will be affected by cross-loading. Stability will be better on exposed windward aspects. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable

Forecast Weather Influences: Strong North-West winds overnight will decrease in strength through the period to become light to moderate from the South-East. Mainly dry throughout. It will remain cool with the freezing level around 500 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Very strong Westerly winds with the freezing level rising to around 500 metres. Snow showers throughout the day with associated poor visibility. ObservedSnowStability: Weakly bonded windslab is becoming more widespread on North-East through East to South aspects above 800 metres. Some other aspects are affected by cross loading. Weak cornices are developing above these aspects. Below 800m some deposits of windslab exist, but tend to be mainly avoidable. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
