The surface of the snowpack is frozen, but not to a significant depth. The fresh snow and in particular the wind slabs can still be released in some cases in particular on very steep north, east and southwest facing slopes and generally at intermediate and high altitudes. These are to be found especially in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. In particular in the regions with a lot of snow more mostly small moist and wet avalanches are possible as a consequence of solar radiation. The wind slabs of the weekend will be covered with new snow and therefore barely recognisable.

Afternoon: Little snow will fall in some regions. In some places wind slabs are lying on the smooth surface of an old snowpack. This applies in particular at intermediate and high altitudes and along the border with Switzerland. In some cases the wind slabs have bonded still only poorly with the old snowpack. Sunny slopes: As a consequence of falling temperatures and solar radiation the snowpack will consolidate during the next few days.

The meteorological conditions will facilitate a slow strengthening of the snowpack.
