Soft surface slabs formed by southwest winds up to three feet deep at the upper elevations, two feet deep at the mid elevations and in isolated pockets at the lower elevations exist. These slabs could be triggered by single skiers, snowboarders or riders on snowmachines especially where they lie upon buried suncrust, surface hoar or windpacked snow. Avoid steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones and cliff areas. Loose snow sluffs are possible in steep non-wind affected terrain or if steep snow covered slopes are exposed to direct sunshine or rapidly increasing temperatures.

Moisture in a west-northwest flow will bring periods of light snow to the mountains with a couple of inches of accumulation possible. Fridays highs will be in the 20's. Ridgetop winds will be northwest to west at 14 to 20 MPH. AVALANCHE HAZARD FOR THE TETON, TOGWOTEE PASS / CONTINENTAL DIVIDE AND GREYS RIVER / SOUTHWEST TRAILS AREAS:The general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE. Soft surface slabs up to several feet deep exist and could be human triggered in steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones. Backcountry users are advised to consult area specific forecasts issued every morning as new information may become available and unexpected weather can change conditions.
