Dense surface slabs, one to three feet in depth, could be triggered by backcountry travelers on steep, wind-loaded slopes. Any extended periods of sunshine will make these slabs more susceptible to failure. At lower elevations south facing steep slopes and roadcuts should be avoided in the afternoon.

A Pacific storm system will bring snow to the mountains late Tuesday through Wednesday. Accumulations of 5 to 10 inches area forecasted for the mountains by Thursday morning. Wednesday morning temperatures will be in the mid teens then rise to twenty during the day. Winds along the crests will be west to southwesterly at 35 miles per hour Tuesday night then veer to northwesterly by mid day Wednesday, slowing some in the eveningNew snow and strong winds will create soft slabs through the storm cycle increasing the chance for backcountry travelers to trigger slides on lee slopes. The general hazard will rise to Considerable Wednesday in the Tetons and also increase in the Greys river and Togwotee Pass areas.
