Avalanche Summary

Significant triggers, like a house-sized cornice fall, could trigger an avalanche that breaks on buried crusts two to four feet deep. Avoid traveling on steep slopes directly below overhanging cornices. Northerly-facing slopes that lack buried crusts offer safer options.

As temperatures warm in the next several days, snow surfaces will become wet from east to south through west-facing slopes, particularly at lower elevations. Consider the consequences of the terrain where a small avalanche could take you for a nasty ride. Move off steep slopes once you sink past your ankles in wet snow.
