The chance for skiers and riders to trigger these slides in steep, wind loaded terrain will increase with daytime warming and sunshine. The new snow, which will slow the warming of the older snow surfaces, may also release as shallow, wet loose sluffs later in the day. Take note if old snow surfaces can no longer support the weight of backcountry travelers; this will be an indicator that deeper wet slides are becoming possible.
