The avalanche hazard is MODERATE at the higher elevations (9,000 to 10,500 feet). Backcountry travelers could trigger surface slabs to 16 inches in depth on steep, lee slopes. The slabs developed on slick or weak old snow surfaces and could be triggered by one person on a slope. Avoid steepening slopes under cornices or cliffs. At elevations, below 9,000 feet the hazard is LOW. Riders could trigger slides in isolated pockets in very steep terrain.
