Avalanche Activity

During the course of the day fresh danger spots in some places.

Low avalanche danger. Nevertheless fresh snowdrift deposits are forming in some places in shady steep areas which can be triggered by small additional loads. Danger of falling is higher than the danger of being buried.

Snowpack Structure

Partially a thin snowdrift layer is forming in higher shady areas on top of a layer wich kinetic metamorphosed. This weak layer can be prone to triggering. Otherwise the new snow is sufficiently bonding with the old snow cover. Weak layers within the snow base (kinetic metamorphosis) are hardly prone to triggering. Blow-off areas are often hard and icy.

Weather Forecast

Tuesday night the south foehn-like passes and will be replaced by a northwestern stream with cooler air masses. Dense clouds and the visibility in the mountains is poorly. Precipitation is possible and the snow line sinks from 1.500 m to 800 m. Brisk northwesterly winds which are partially strong. Temperatures at noon are around -6 degrees in 2.000 and around -3 degrees in 1.500 m.

Tendency

Wednesday night little amount of new snowfall. During the course of the day it will clear up. Snowdrift is partially prone to triggering.
