Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack for much of the period will remain generally moist with good stability. New snow towards the end of the day will form localised areas of unstable windslab with greatest deposits in the tops of gullies and Northerly to Easterly aspects above 900 metres, these areas are not expected to achieve depth or be extensive and should generally be avoidable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Rain, heavy at times with occasional sleet at the highest levels will affect the area overnight, light snow showers through the day will become heavier towards evening. Strong to gale force winds will generally be South-Westerly. The freezing level will remain above the summits for most of the period but lowering rapidly to 600 metres in the late afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: Mild and damp with fresh to strong South-Westerly winds. The freezing level was well above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is mainly in the higher Northerly and Easterly corries. The surface is generally soft and moist lying on a firm base with good stability. Isolated wet snow surface instabilities exist in the most sheltered areas but these are avoidable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
