Only a little snow is lying. Individual avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found in particular on very steep north facing slopes above approximately 2400 m. Apart from the danger of being buried, restraint should be exercised in particular in view of the danger of avalanches sweeping people along and giving rise to falls. As the day progresses as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation there will be only a slight increase in the danger of wet and gliding avalanches. Small and medium-sized natural avalanches are possible. This applies in particular on steep east and west facing slopes below approximately 2800 m, as well as on north facing slopes below approximately 2400 m. Backcountry tours should be concluded timely.

South-facing slopes are thoroughly wet far up into high alpine regions; west-facing and east-facing slopes are wet below approximately 3000 m; north-facing slopes below approximately 2400 m. As a result of the clear nocturnal skies and low temperatures, a snowpack surface crust will form over widespread areas which is capable of bearing loads. This will stabilise the snowpack. During the course of the day, the crust will soften and thaw and subsequently the danger of wet-snow avalanches will increase somewhat. Isolated danger zones for dry-snow avalanches are still to be found on very steep north-facing slopes above approximately 2400 m more than anywhere else.

Skies on Friday night were variably cloudy in the northern regions and in Grisons, in the other regions of Switzerland skies were predominantly clear. During the course of the day on Saturday skies frequently remained overcast in the central and eastern sectors of the northern flank of the Alps and in northern Grisons. In the western and the southern regions it was generally sunny. Fresh snow: - Temperature: At midday at 2000 m, between +1 °C in the northeastern regions and +8 °C in the remaining regions of Switzerland. Wind: Winds were blowing generally at moderate strength from northerly directions. Following a night of clear skies it is expected to be sunny during the daytime hours. Fresh snow: - Temperature: At midday at 2000 m, between +2 °C in the northeastern regions and +5 °C in the western and the southern regions. Wind: Winds will be blowing at moderate strength from northeasterly directions.

Nocturnal skies on Sunday will be clear and during the daytime on Monday it will be sunny. On Tuesday, clouds will move in from the west following a night of clear skies. As a consequence of moderate northerly winds, it will be cool. The avalanche situation is favourable in early morning. As a result of solar radiation and daytime warming the danger of wet-snow avalanches will increase during the course of each day. Backcountry tours and ascents to mountain refuges should be launched early in the day, brought to an end early in the day. Isolated danger zones for dry-snow avalanches are still to be found on very steep north-facing slopes above approximately 2400 m more than anywhere else.
