Kernpunkte

Avalanches continue to be unlikely. Approach steep slopes with caution and monitor for warming. A fall in extreme terrain will have elevated consequences.

Avalanche Discussion

A prolonged dry spell beginning on January 10th has led to a sustained period of stability across the region. High pressure will continue to dominate today, and as a result, avalanche hazard and surface conditions are unlikely to change substantially.

Expect a variety of textures and surfaces across the zone. Give yourself multiple travel options in case conditions are unfavorable for your first choice. Coverage has also recently become a contender; be cautious of shallowly buried hazards, especially in terrain where a fall would be consequential.

It continues to be a great time to travel far, move efficiently, and to explore every knook and cranny in range. Bring a cautious mindset, monitor for warming on solar slopes, and watch for isolated instabilities in steep terrain.
