Kernpunkte

At the upper elevations warming temperatures will increase the potential for skiers and riders to trigger shallow wet sloughs and isolated pockets of wind slab up to 18 inches deep. These small slides could be dangerous in extreme terrain. Monitor conditions and avoid steep terrain if significant softening of the snow surfaces occur. Avalanches are unlikely at the mid elevations. The ground surface is mostly bare below an elevation of 7,500 feet.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Tuesday will be dry with valley inversions. Skies will be mostly clear above areas of morning valley fog. Temperatures will drop into the teens and single digits overnight and rise into the mid-30s during the day. Winds will be from the northwest at 10 to 15 miles per hour.No new avalanche activity has been reported for several days. At the upper elevations skiers or riders could trigger isolated pockets of shallow wind slab up to 18 inches deep and wet loose sloughs on very steep slopes. Avalanches are unlikely at the mid elevations. Very little snow exists at the lower elevations. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW.
