Great stability still has avalanche danger potential though it may be low, be cautious in and around cornices and steep exposed terrain or terrain traps like cliffs where moving, dry, loose snow, a firm wind or sun crust, or a chunk of cornice could send you into a bad place you would rather avoid.

A variety of snow surfaces can be found in the mountains as well as low avalanche danger. For one of the first times this winter there are firm surfaces from Sun and wind that will challenge most sliders and riders! There are good pockets of snow to be found where wind and sun has not beaten up the snow surface. The last storm favored the Northern end our advisory area and may yield deeper soft surface snow conditions where it remains soft.

 Keep up good protocols like checking your partners transceivers, and only exposing one person at a time to avalanche terrain. Don't let your guard down even though the danger is low you could still get the upper snowpack moving with you in extreme steep terrain. Connections in the upper 1-2 feet of the snowpack between various crusts and facets are poor and will not support much future load...this looks to be as far out as the latter part of next week...pray for snow!
