Avalanche Activity

Only few avalanche prone locations (small avalanches).

Avalanche danger is low. Wet snow problem in all aspects. As the day progresses, isolated small wet loose snow avalanches can trigger naturally in extremely steep terrain at intermediate altitude. Smaller glide-snow avalanches can release on steep slopes over smooth ground. Further, isolated small snowdrift patches can be triggered as small slabs in steep high altitude terrain close to ridges in N/-E aspects.

Snowpack Structure

Following clear nocturnal skies in many places the snowpack will be encrusted early in the day in all aspects at intermediate altitudes and on the sunny side at high altitudes. The snowpack surface will soften again during the course of the day and the bonding will become poorer. At higher altitudes the surface snow is still dry in shady terrain. At high altitudes, small fresh snowdrift accumulations occur in a few places.

Tendency

No significant changes.
