Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will be well bonded and stable in most locations. Localised deposits of moderately bonded windslab will gradually develop, on North-West through North to East aspects above 1000 metres. These deposits are not expected to be extensive and be confined to wind sheltered locations such as gully tops and coire rims. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Forecast Weather Influences: Showers will fall as snow above 1100 metres overnight turning to snow above 700 metres by the end of the day. The freezing level will be around the summits overnight falling to 800 metres by the end of the day. Very strong Southerly winds, will decrease to moderate and veer South-Westerly by morning. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with very strong Southerly winds. The freezing level was around 900 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is well bonded and stable in most locations. Instabilities remaining in recent windslab accumulations, on steep North through East to South-East aspects above 1100 metres continue to consolidate. The avalanche hazard is Low.
