The mostly small wind slabs represent the main danger. Below approximately 1800 m small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized moist avalanches are possible.
The mostly small wind slabs represent the main danger. Below approximately 1800 m small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized moist avalanches are possible.
The strong wind has transported the new snow. The wind slabs have formed especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and generally at high altitudes. The weather conditions will give rise to gradual consolidation of the snowpack. As a consequence of mild temperatures the snowpack will consolidate during the next few days. In particular below approximately 1800 m individual mostly small moist snow slides and avalanches are possible. Especially on steep grassy slopes small and medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible.
The snowpack will be subject to considerable local variations. Fresh and older wind slabs are to be found especially in gullies and bowls in all aspects and generally at high altitudes. The weather conditions from the early morning will give rise to increasing consolidation of the snowpack above approximately 1800 m. The avalanche prone locations for wet avalanches are to be found in particular on steep slopes below approximately 1800 m and on steep grassy slopes.
