The sometimes strong wind has transported the fresh and old snow. The wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant at intermediate and high altitudes. This applies in particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. Remotely triggered avalanches are possible. Whumpfing sounds and the formation of shooting cracks when stepping on the snowpack serve as an alarm sign. Backcountry touring calls for defensive route selection. As a consequence of falling temperatures, the natural avalanche activity has already appreciably decreased.

Up to 60 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, has fallen since Saturday. In some localities up to 10 cm of snow, but less in some localities, fell yesterday above approximately 1500 m. The easterly wind has transported the fresh and old snow. The various wind slabs have bonded with the old snowpack. Intermediate and high altitudes: Individual weak layers exist in the old snowpack especially on shady slopes.
