Kernpunkte

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE. Areas of deep slab instability persist on some steep slopes. Dangerous hard slabs up to five feet in depth could be triggered by humans who venture into steep avalanche prone terrain. The potential for these deep slabs to be triggered by the weight of a person will increase as the day warms. These deep slabs could be crossed by skiers or snowmobiles multiple times before a weak spot is encountered. These dangerous slabs present the greatest hazard to high marking snowmobilers and skiers who venture into steep bowls, cirques, couloirs and cliff areas. Clear skies and good visibility generally encourage backcountry users to take greater risks. Conservative decisions regarding terrain selection are warranted.
