( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch that is in effect from now until Tuesday afternoon for much of Western Wyoming. snow, heavy at times, will continue Monday night into Tuesday. Up to a foot of snow containing an inch of moisture is forecasted for most mountainous areas of western Wyoming. Mountain temperatures will cool to zero or below tonight and rise only into the single digits Tuesday. Winds will become southwesterly this evening then westerly tonight and Tuesday and increase to 25 to 30 miles per hour with gusts to 50. The General Avalanche Hazard will increase from MODERATE to CONSIDERABLE as snowfall and strong West winds create sensitive soft slabs. South facing slopes with suncrusts and western fetches like Twin Slides on glory Peak will be likely sites for natural or human triggered events. North and northeast aspects will have the potential for slides to two feet in depth.
