A mostly stable snowpack exist, however low hazard does not mean there is no hazard. Watch out for areas of unstable snow in very steep terrain and cliff areas, especially after snow surfaces soften in the afternoon.
Isolated pockets of wind slab up to 18 inches in depth could be triggered by humans who venture into very steep couloirs, beneath cornices areas and in cliff areas. Sunshine and increasing temperatures will increase the sensitivity of these shallow slabs to human triggers.
The system passing to our north and east will continue to bring clouds and possibly a little snow to the higher elevations of the northern and eastern portions of our forecast area. During the night winds will veer towards the northwest and temperatures will drop into the teens. Expect clearing skies on Monday. Temperatures will rise into the 30s in the mountains and into the 40s in the valleys. Winds will be westerly at 10 to 20 miles per hour.A mostly stable snowpack exists. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW in the Teton area and in the lower elevations of the Continental Divide/Togwotee Pass and the Southwest Trails/Greys River areas. A MODERATE hazard is expected at the mid and upper elevations of the Continental Divide/Togwotee Pass and the Southwest Trails/Greys River areas where some potential for snowmobiles to trigger deep hard slabs to depths of six feet may persist in isolated areas.
