Forecast Snow Stability: Localised areas of unstable windslab will persist in wind sheltered locations mainly on South-East to South-West aspects above 900 metres with some fragile cornices above these aspects. The patchy older snowpack will remain firm and the thin covering of fresh snow on other aspects and at lower elevations will be generally stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: After moderate North-North-Westerly winds and light snow showers in the early evening it will be dry, cold and clear with light East-North-Easterly winds. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight snow showers were followed by a dry morning with further snow showers in the afternoon. Cold throughout with light to moderate Northerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: Localised areas of poorly bonded windslab are present in wind sheltered locations mainly on South-East to South-West aspects above 900 metres. Fragile cornices are present above these aspects. The patchy older snowpack is firm and stable. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
