The fresh wind slabs represent the main danger.

As a consequence of new snow and a moderate to strong wind from northerly directions, wind slabs formed in particular adjacent to ridgelines. They can be released by a single winter sport participant in some cases in particular on very steep shady slopes above approximately 2500 m. As a consequence of solar radiation moist avalanches are possible in the afternoon, even medium-sized ones, in particular on very steep sunny slopes. Several medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large dry and wet avalanches have been released on Monday. On very steep slopes several small and medium-sized avalanches were released. The weather conditions facilitated a gradual strengthening of the near-surface layers in particular on sunny slopes.

Little snow fell during the night. The wind has transported some snow. Large wind slabs formed. A lot of snow is lying at intermediate and high altitudes. As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures and solar radiation a crust formed on the surface on Monday, in particular on sunny slopes. Towards its base, the snowpack is unfavourably layered, in particular on shady slopes. Over a wide area over a wide area 70 to 160 cm of snow fell on Sunday above approximately 1800 m.

The avalanche danger will persist.
