THE AVALANCHE DANGER WILL INCREASE THROUGH THE END OF THE WEEK AND REMAIN DANGEROUS INTO THE WEEKEND. For today, the overall avalanche danger is MODERATE on mid and upper elevation steep slopes that face west, north and east. Additional snowfall and wind drifted snow will increase the danger as the day goes on.
Snow and Weather
A few inches of snow fell overnight and we have light snowfall in the mountains right now. Southwest wind is starting to increase and will be moderate in speed with some stronger gusts today. Snowfall should continue on and off today with another 3 to 6 inches possible. We'll have a break in precipitation on Thursday but the southwest wind will be blowing fairly strong especially later in the afternoon. Snowfall should start again Thursday afternoon. A cold front moves through late Thursday night. Snowfall should continue Friday and we could end up with another 6 to 10". It looks like clear weather for the weekend.
