Tetons

Strong southwesterly winds overnight have formed shallow pockets (less than one foot in depth) of new soft slab in the upper elevation starting zones. These slabs lie upon a well developed layer of surface hoar and slick melt-freeze crusts. These new slabs are likely to be sensitive to human triggers. The snowpack at the mid and lower elevations is shallow and avalanches are unlikely.
