You might trigger an avalanche at your feet or from a distance where you find recent wind-drifted snow forming firm cohesive slabs. The most dangerous slopes face north, northeast, and east, where old weak snow lingers under the drifted snow. Watch out for signs of instability, such as cracking and collapsing, and avoid steep leeward slopes that appear to be deeper and wind-sculpted.
Continued warming throughout the week could result in small loose avalanche activity on steep, rocky slopes in the afternoon.
