Avalanche danger is slowly easing, but the consequences of triggering an avalanche have not. If you find a shallow spot on a slope and trigger an avalanche, it will be large. Northwest to north through east-facing slopes near and above treeline are the most dangerous. Avoid likely trigger points, including slab margins, convex rollovers, and shallowly buried rocks. Avalanches may be triggered from a distance, below, or after multiple tracks, on a slope

To keep it simple, avoid steep avalanche terrain altogether. Stick to slopes around 30 degrees or less.
