Mount Shasta

Low avalanche danger dominates. Now is the time to climb the mountain. Winter-like weather is still possible this time of year, so always check the weather before your climb. Crankin' winds and sub-zero wind chill temps are common on the upper mountain. Be prepared. As for rockfall, the rule is simple: the more exposed rock, the better the chance for rockfall. Wear a helmet and keep an eye above. Clear and sunny weather prevails. A strong west/northwest wind event will kick in Sunday night through Tuesday.

As always, climbers... please be sure to acquire all permits/passes, keep a clean camp and pack out your human waste, it is required.Note that tomorrow will be the last avalanche forecast for the season.
