The large quantity of fresh snow of yesterday and the sometimes large wind slabs represent the main danger.
The large quantity of fresh snow and the large wind slabs can be released easily or naturally. This applies especially in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. Additionally avalanches can also penetrate deep layers. From early morning in some localities danger level 4 (high) will be reached in the regions exposed to heavier precipitation. Backcountry touring calls for caution and restraint.
Up to 40 cm of snow, and up to 60 cm in some localities, will fall until the early morning. As a consequence of snowfall and the strong wind, fresh snow drift accumulations formed. The new snow and wind slabs are poorly bonded with the old snowpack. Individual weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on shady slopes.
