In the last few days the wind was moderate to strong. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas and at transitions into gullies and bowls. The wind slabs can only be released by large loads in most cases. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation moist avalanches are possible as the day progresses, but they will be mostly small.
As a consequence of the moderate wind, snow drift accumulations formed. This applies in particular at elevated altitudes. The fresh wind slabs are lying on a crust in particular on shady slopes above approximately 2500 m. The high temperatures as the day progresses will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular at intermediate altitudes.
